Social Media

A few of you have told me in the past few weeks how you've missed seeing my posts on the social media platforms. Oddly of the sixteen-hundred followers our post were reaching less than thirty-people so I think a lot more had been missing us from a long while back - at least I hope they were :) I too have missed it as I have nowhere to share and keep up-to-date with my lovely customers. Until now that is!

I've spent a lot of time on the interweb this past few weeks trying to source alternatives, trying them out, and now I'm here to share with you where you can now find us again. I know, I'm good to you :)

Firstly, and I have mentioned this one before, we have swapped Twitter for Bluesky. It's all quite new on there but is working well and used in the same way the other site was without the racist, mysoginst homophobes!

I've swapped Instagram for one called Pixelfed; can be a bit of difficult one to figure out where to sign up but if you follow our link it will take you to us so you should be able to sign up through there. I've had more interaction on there with genuine people interested in photographs than I ever had on the other site. There is also another one in the making which will be called Flashes - I know, I think they should rename it.

As yet no alternative for facebook but I'm pretty sure someone is out there right now trying to do their best for us. Trying to come up with a site that will work how FB originally did so we get to actually keep in contact with the people we want to and don't have to go through multiple posts that are of no interest until we find a friend/family member.

We've been on Tumblr for years - I like that one - and we're also on Nextdoor (very similar to the local facebook groups so not good for everyone).

Messenger/Whatsapp we've migrated over to one called Signal. It works in an identical way to whatsapp so very is user friendly.

Moving away from google is proving a little harder for me as the majority of people who will search for the shop will do so believing google to be the internet and we have some great reviews on there. However, in the hope to eventually move away if you were considering leaving a review for us, I'd love it if you would do so on either Trip Advisor, or Trust Pilot. The advantage both of these sites have is that the reviews are verified so you know the review you're reading has been left by a genuine customer. With google anyone can leave a review even if they've never had dealings with the business they're reviewing.

I'm hoping this reaches some of my older followers, as well as any new ones. We do what we do for our customers so any input from them is gratefully recieved.
